Roseanne Cartwright

As a newcomer to aged care, I am inspired by the countless number of people across Australia who care for our elders with dedication and compassion every day – whether they do it as a career, as a volunteer, a friend or family member. At Opal, we believe it is the simple acts of kindness that happen in our care homes that will define our culture. These stories connect Opal and our partners in care to our purpose – ‘to bring joy to those we care for’. They help us to learn how to improve, and inspire us to find new and better ways of caring for our elders with dignity, respect and love.

Roseanne joined Opal in November 2018 as Director of Communications and Community Engagement. She enjoys working with people whose purpose is to deliver social good. Roseanne believes in building a culture of belonging, where everyone’s different life experiences and perspectives are welcomed and valued. This is central to enabling people and teams to do their best work and to deliver exceptional, person-centred care. She brings a unique combination of expertise in Communications, People and Culture gained across a range of sectors in Australia, Africa and Asia.

Before joining Opal, Roseanne consulted to CEOs in large and small organisations, with a particular interest in Indigenous businesses. Prior to that she worked in leadership roles in global companies including Qantas and CIMIC. She has a Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) from the University of Technology, Sydney, and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
